Create, market and sell NFTs in Shopify!

A new integration available in Shopify makes the NFT process easier for buyers and sellers. It is now possible to create and sell NFTs hosted on Polygon (MATIC) or Avalanche (AVAX) in your Shopify store thanks to the Venly app.

From creation to sale of NFT

Shopify announced Thursday that it has expanded its non-fungible token (NFT) integration, enabling millions of merchants to start designing, manufacturing and selling NFTs on the Avalanche blockchain.

Using the Venly merchant software, Shopify website owners will be able to sell NFTs if they have “minimal technical knowledge”.

Now Non-Fungible Token (NFT) creators have an all-in-one solution to build and sell their collections directly from their Shopify store. Thanks to the Venly app, which provides a complete solution from creation to sale without knowing how to write smart contracts.

“The integration makes it easy to navigate the Avalanche blockchain NFT ecosystem from initial design to final distribution,” said John Nahas, vice president of business at blockchain developer Ava Labs. Avalanche.

NFTs created by sellers are “automatically converted into products” and can be viewed and purchased in their online stores.

In addition, recipients do not need an existing crypto wallet, instead they will receive an email with a link to the newly created blockchain wallet.

The e-commerce giant introduced its first NFT integration in July 2021, allowing merchants to sell NFT directly from their online stores rather than through third-party marketplaces.

According to Venly, NFT sellers on Shopify can also earn commissions on NFT transactions made through Venly’s secondary marketplace.

“Our growing blockchain ecosystem demonstrates our commitment to helping Web3 Engagement grow in popularity and expand business opportunities by enabling merchants to sell NFTs directly through their stores,” said Christina Lomazzo, Head of Blockchain Ecosystem at Shopify.

Acceptance of cryptocurrencies requires use on major platforms

While the creation of NFT has been greatly simplified by giants like OpenSea, the ability to carry out these exchanges on platforms more familiar to the public like Shopify is a strong signal of democratization.

On the other hand, customers do not necessarily need cryptocurrency to buy NFTs with this solution.

In reality, it will be possible to pay directly by credit card, after which an email will be sent to the wallet containing the purchased non-working tokens with the necessary instructions.

Merchants have the option to add Coinbase Commerce to their online store to receive cryptocurrency payments.

Also note that card payments through Stripe can also be automatically converted to Bitcoin (BTC) as the company integrates OpenNode services in spring 2022.

On Shopify’s side, a partnership with Strike Wallet last April will allow it to accept payments directly from the Lightning Network. In parallel, the platform released a collection of NFTs featuring the NBA’s Chicago Bulls.

All these solutions, in addition to popular tools like Shopify, can gradually bring cryptocurrencies to the public, making it easier to enter the ecosystem.

Shopify joins a growing list of major platforms offering digital collections. Instagram and its parent company Meta recently opened the door to NFT exchanges. The platform has given some group of digital creators access to some beta features, while Reddit has successfully launched an NFT marketplace.
