“I needed a good organization to combine freelancing and courses”
In 2019, after receiving his Bachelor of Economics and Social Sciences, Eliott Duflos decided not to go through the Parcoursup platform. A student interested in communication joined ISCOM in his first year. After growing up with YouTube and social networks, he turned to this field, which he believes “Training for tomorrow’s jobs”. Currently in MA 1 “Creation and Brand Design”, graphic, photo and video enthusiast, along with his career, he returned for Studyrama with freelance experience as a student.
Can you tell us about your freelance experience? How to start freelancing as a student?
I started freelancing two years ago. Having been in the video world for a while, I had developed skills beforehand. It was like A first professional experience outside of school. In the video, I met people in need so that I could deliver to them. Freelancing is something I enjoy doing different customers and for various projects. In general, creativity is a real passion for me today. This explains my motivation because In addition to taking my classes, I work hard. Anyway, it should be Good organizationof determination and some motivation can manage their lives between classes, work and activities. I try to combine the three.
How did your professional experiences lead you to specialize in graphic design?
I started making videos at a very young age and slowly got into photography. I discovered when I came to ISCOM graphic creation, and it immediately captivated me. There are various courses on 360 creation in communication: art history, DTP, branding, content creation, video, photography, as well as motion design. My goal is to become an artistic director. My first professional experience was an internship in the ÏDKIDS group. As I was responsible for internal communication, I was involved in video, photo editing, writing articles and organizing an international fashion show attended by more than 500 people. This experience helped me figure out what I want to do in the future. The following year, I interned as a Head of Content at Decathlon. My missions were to propose new trends in the market by conducting competitive intelligence and creating content. These different experiences helped me choose a specialty “Branding and Design” at ISCOM.

You are a part of “Generation Z”: how have social networks and video platforms helped you to realize your project?
Growing up with YouTube in turn made me want to be creative. That’s why I started showing interest in creative field, especially video. YouTube was a model of sorts also my dream when I was young. The platform helped me a lot with my imagination. Today there is many content creators who inspire and meets everyone’s needs. Today, thanks to YouTube, I am still learning and developing my skills in graphic design, art direction, video and photography.
What is the secret of success?
If we really love what we do, you should never let go, because it is normal to experience setbacks sometimes. They must live complete because they are a part of life and allow you to succeed in a better way. In order to never give up on your project, it is important to have a thirst and curiosity to discover new things, new trends. The goal is always to look further don’t be afraid of people’s eyes and their judgment may be. You can always learn something by relying on yourself and applying the skills you already have.
